David Tunison. I am an artist living in Cincinnati.

A collection of drawings based on locations from around the world found by doing virtual-travel on the Google Maps Streetview feature. Actually, some of them are places around my hometown drawn from life or from my own reference photographs.

The drawings shown here were made on Canson 90 lb medium texture ring-bound sketchbook paper 7 x 10 inches. I work on them every evening and spend about two weeks on each one. The medium is Staedtler or Eagle-Turquoise 2mm graphite leads, HB through 8B. I have a small collection of vintage mechanical lead holders- "Tech" da De-Luxe, Koh-I-Noor Technigraph, Tacro 4435, Fullerton Acutron 1030 C, Koh-I-Noor 5616 and a Venus of unknown variety. I think they were all made in Italy in the 1960s or 70s. They have fancy names and different colors, but look like they came from the same factory.

The idea of using Streetview as a drawing source came from the blog "Virtual Paintout" by Bill Guffey, a Kentucky artist, who paints Streetview scenes and invites other artists to do the same and share them online.

I have also done a lot of painting and woodworking.
